Should Robert Pattinson's friend Tom Sturridge play Riley in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse?
While The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg might opine that Channing Tatum should be cast for the part of Riley in Eclipse, here's another thought: what about Tom Sturridge?
Friend to Remember Me star Robert Pattinson, Sturridge also appeared with Pattinson in Vanity Fair, and has been seen with Pattinson roaming about New York City while Pattinson films Remember Me (with Pierce Brosnan, Chris Cooper, and Emilie De Ravin).
Aside from being Pattinson's long-time friend and fellow Brit-packer, Sturridge also has his fair share of work under his belt.
About a dozen years ago, Sturridge starred in Gulliver's Travels, which is father directed and his mother produced. After his work in Vanity Fair, Sturridge was then cast as Roger Gosselyn in Being Julia, and went on to star in The Boat That Rocked. More recently, Sturridge worked on forth-coming/post-production film Waiting For Forever.
Though Sturridge is known for his deep brown hair, he is also known for his fairly youthful appearance.
Riley, in Eclipse, is described as blonde, but we know from our experience with Nikki Reed and Peter Facinelli that things can be done about that factor. Otherwise, Riley is tall, youthful looking, and erratic. A combination of Sturridge's youthful appearance, his innate and rest-assured chemistry with Robert Pattinson, a little exercise to muscle-up for the part (as Riley is also described as fairly muscular), and the wonders of hair-dye might just set Sturridge up for the part.
So, I ask you: do you think Tom Sturridge would make a good Riley in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse? Why or why not?
